| First Edition Winter/Spring | www.colourbasis.com | January-March 2006 |
Welcome to the first quarterly edition of Colour Basis Let’s Face It, Gorgeous! Appearance Newsletter. Are you a Seriously, with
cold weather, low humidity and heaters blasting, who isn’t shedding
their skin? It’s time to bring in the new skin along with the New
Year. Whether your skin is oily or dry, you will benefit from proper
cleansing, regular exfoliation (removing dead skin cells) and
moisturizing. Start with a gentle facial cleanser morning and evening
then you can exfoliate your skin several different ways: Wash your face
with a washcloth using gentle upward circular motions or use a
moisturizer with multi-hydroxy acids or try other alternatives such as
scrubs, masks, micro-dermabrasion, the list goes on… |
Cetaphil is highly recommended by dermatologists and can be found in grocery and drug stores every where. Following this routine daily will have your skin feeling baby soft and looking radiant (and younger) in days! For Men Let’s talk about lips, shall we? Along with dry skin come chapped lips. You can combat the roughness of winter with daily lip care. Begin by exfoliating your lips. How? After you brush your teeth, use your toothbrush and GENTLY brush your lips to help remove dry, chapped skin. Follow with a Lip Balm. Only use a specialty medicated formula if your lips are truly chapped and for a limited time. Vitamin E or an Aloe balm is best for everyday. You should use a lip balm at least twice a day. I recommend keeping it by your toothbrush and every time you brush your teeth, give your lips a little attention as well. The camera will notice and so will that special one in your life! |
This Way, Ladies The Eyes have it. Eye-brows to be exact! Brows make all the difference in bringing focus to your soul windows. They are to your face what a picture frame is to a picture. It just completes the look. Brows are the most overlooked feature on the face. Getting the proper shape is key. If you are reshaping your brow don’t get too carried away! Take baby steps or go see a professional. If you want to try it on your own, in this Colour Basis web site you will find guidelines for proper brow shaping. Go to the “Brows” section and click on Water Resistant Brow Pencil for the shaping tutorial. A well shaped and groomed, thicker brow is in. After you have your shape, lightly fill in any “holes” with short, feathery strokes using a brow pencil or a shadow one shade lighter than your hair colour. Be careful not to go too heavy with the colour, subtly vs. obvious with application. You then set your brows with Brow Fix for a beautiful, polished look. Viola, a mini-eye lift! |
