Let’s face it, gorgeous!

“Eyes” Gotta Get
Some Rest Folks!

Have you ever wondered why those puffy eyes and dark circles keep coming back?  Research says that if you are under a lot of stress or are not getting enough sleep at night that could be causing them.  This year has been stressful for most in this industry! Do what you can to try to get in bed a little earlier than usual, drink lots of water, and MAKE TIME to relax and unwind.  If all else fails, here are suggestions and cosmetic remedies that help:

PUFFY EYES:

  • Cut back on salt and sodium.  They cause you to retain water.
  • Sleep on your back, sleeping on your stomach and face can cause additional puffiness
  • Elevation helps with puffiness. As you sleep on your back, make sure your head is slightly elevated with a fluffy pillow or 2 thinner ones.
  • Try our Gel Eye Mask to reduce puffiness in a hurry! Keep in refrigerator or freezer and place over eyes for 10 minutes to reduce swelling.  Do this BEFORE you apply moisturizer or makeup.
  • Keep your allergies in check with your favorite solutions; ask your doctor for RX.

DARK CIRCLES

  • Circulation helps!  Apply your under eye cream with your ring finger in circular motions going around entire eye area upper and lower.
  • For super dark circles, apply Colour Basis Blue Corrector with Hide It brush to correct the dark undertone before applying makeup.
  • Follow Blue Corrector application with Hi-Def Concealer Stic to knock out those dark circles completely.
  • Apply White Highlighter on inner rims of eyes for a wide open, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed look on camera that we all love to see.

Patty:  “I'm totally addicted to my airbrush - I absolutely love it and feel fabulous every day!”

Hollie:  “I love how the eye shadow and eyeliner stay on.”

Lou:  “I can't tell you how many people compliment me on how make-up now that I use yours. Plus your brushes are superior. You have made excellent choices in your line and you are knowledgeable, efficient and darling which is why it is so easy for me to recommend you and your products.”

Jon:  ”Following our conversation, I went to the mall and bought a nice pair of brown suit shoes & suit socks to go with the suit I had on. Good thing I did because I ended up having to stand up in front of about 100 people at the conference I was at and give a brief presentation – can’t imagine I would have looked good in those ratty shoes! Thanks again for your suggestions & I look forward to using the new products!”

We love hearing from you. Let us know how we are doing!

For the Men:
I Have Got to Hand It to You…

Look down right now, what shape are your hands and nails in?  Bonus points for you guys who just got a manicure.  For those of your curling up your fingers right now or reaching for the lotion bottle, this is for you.  Did you ever notice the first 3 letters are MAN-icure?  There is nothing sissy about having your nails done! In fact, it says quite the opposite.  Hands and shoes (I will talk about those later) are a huge part of your presentation and should be well taken care of and groomed regularly just like your beard and hair.  You can easily learn to do them yourself if there is no way the man-i route is never going to happen.  You will need:

  • A pair of nail clippers
  • An emery board (aka nail file)
  • Orange Stick (aka cuticle stick)
  • Warm water and Lotion

Make sure nails are kept short, not extending from the ends of finger tips.  Use clippers to shorten as needed then smooth the rough edges with your emery board.

Now soak your fingertips in a bowl of warm water for several minutes, dry off hands.  Use flattened end of orange stick to gently push back cuticles and remove any growing on nails.  Follow with lotion for touchable hands!

 Clover has taken over
Clover pieces in jewelry have taken over this season!

Ladies, It's Crimson and Clover…

The two hottest accessories of the season are clover jewelry pieces and rich coloured lips.  We have both!  Check out our newest accessory additions that will have you looking lucky.  Van Cleef & Arpel started it and the trend is hot, hot, hot for the season.  Four-leafed clover design pieces in necklace and earrings have taken over as the replacement for the “O” necklace (which of course replaced the horse shoe necklace).  It is a pleasing shape and works well on camera, so go for it!  As always, watch the size of your pendants making sure the charm is not larger than a quarter so it won’t overpower your face.  Our accessories are a good guide of what works well on camera as we carry a range from the smallest piece that looks good to the largest.  See what works!

Crimson is the colour of summer, red is not your mother's lipstick anymore!  Get a smoking hot lip by choosing your best red.  We have a shade for everyone from Red Alert to Velvet Rouge; ask us if you need help!  Start by applying a neutral lip liner like our Bourbon or Coppercino to “warm” it up a bit for summer and take the edge off red for HDTV.  Next, take your ring finger and dab the colour on your lip instead of applying from the tube.  This will soften the look and give it more of a stained appearance for a modern red lip.  Add a tiny bit of our Fusion just to the center of your lips for a freshly kissed look!  Crimson and clover over and over, I know, it’s stuck in my head all day long too…
